THE CLAS LADDER OF PROGRESS
Certificates of CompetenceThe first Certificate of Competence was announced to the AGM in March 1996 and was for Gilding and Traditional Skills. The first group received their certificates the following year. Other courses are now in operation or are being planned. Certificates of Competence are for those enthusiasts who want to improve their skills and techniques in certain areas by attending four separate day workshops over the course of a year. Each day's intensive study leads on to tasks and exercises to be completed at home before the next session, and this builds up into a body of work which is criterion-reference assessed by the Chief Examiner for that course and a small team of Fellows. This ensures that the standard is consistent and remains high. | |
