THE CLAS LADDER OF PROGRESSCLAS Fellows
For more information e-mail lorna.bambury@virgin.net CLAS Fellows are at the top of this Ladder of Progression. As a guide, the standard of a CLAS Fellow is a high pass (60%+) at National Diploma Advanced level, although having this qualification is not a requirement. However, prospective CLAS Fellows are very strongly recommended to enter for the National Diploma at Advanced level to determine their standard and any area of weakness. Candidates are asked to present a minimum of five, maximum of ten pieces, which show a range of work and can include a manuscript book, broadsheet, work for commission, illumination, heraldry and so on. A panel of five assessors which will include Honoured Fellows and Fellows will discuss their work with the candidates and then assess it against criterion referencing. The mark allocation is open and is sent to candidates before submitting their work. Specialists in various fields of lettering are included in the assessment team if necessary. Marks, feedback and comments are confidential to the assessors and the candidates. A copy of the marks and comments is given to candidates after the assessment. This is not a formal occasion and there is no requirement to set up an exhibition. | |||||||
