AMENDMENTS TO THE CLAS CONSTITUTION

At the Annual General Meeting on 17th March 2007 a proposal was approved to amend sections of Clause 3 of the Constitution to reflect changes recommended by the Management Committee. These changes are to designate members previously known as Associates to be Fellows and to designate members previously known as Fellows as Honoured Fellows. The new definitions are:

Fellows. Those achieving a high level of technical competence. They are entitled to use the letters FCLAS after their name.

Honoured Fellows. Calligraphers and lettering artists and others of experience, attainment and high repute, who have made a significant contribution to calligraphy and lettering, may be invited to become Honoured Fellows. They are entitled to use the letters HFCLAS after their name.

The Chairman will be writing to the members affected by these changes.
